Consulting and convening policy-makers around the world to tackle extremism
ISD provides strategic advice, policy support and training to over 44 governments and 120 cities worldwide, providing expertise and best practice to policy-makers and practitioners to optimise counter-extremism and integration policies and programming. ISD also provides high-level digital policy input to the tech sector to harmonise eﬀorts with governments and civil society.
The Strong Cities Network (SCN) is the only global network of over 100 cities committed to countering violent extremism of all ideologies through establishing inclusive, welcoming communities and respect for human rights.
Led by ISD, the Policy Planners Network (PPN) is a forum for national governments to share information and best practice for designing and implementing policies regarding counter extremism.
ISD co-chairs the Global Counterterrorism Forum’s initiative on ‘Strategic Communications and Social Media Aspects in Preventing/Countering Violent Extremism’, which seeks to develop a comprehensive understanding of potential approaches and methodologies for governments to counter violent extremisms online.
