PC Mag reports on ISD’s findings about moderation gaps and terrorist content proliferation

PC Magazine has featured ISD’s findings as outlined in the report Under-Moderated, Unhinged and Ubiquitous: Al-Shabaab and the Islamic State Networks on Facebook The article looks at the ways in  moderation gaps in non-English language content have allowed for the proliferation of violent and terrorist content on Facebook in Arabic, Somali and Kiswahili.

The upcoming election in Kenya on 9 August 2022 have made these findings particularly pertinent, where support for terrorist groups like al-Shabaab and the Islamic State not only undermines human rights, but also trust in democracy and governments.
