ISD research on True Crime Community cited by The New York Times

Over the past several years, the typical profile of a mass shooter has shifted toward younger individuals deeply involved with online, nihilistic subcultures.

The New York Times recently covered the emergence of this new paradigm and the violence associated with it. 

To illuminate the real-world impact of the rise of online subcultures, The New York Times cited ISD’s research into the True Crime Community and their connection to at least seven U.S. school shootings from 2024 to this past fall.
