Resources
ISD has nearly two decades of experience tackling hate, extremism and information manipulation, and providing practitioners with the material they need. Our resources include extra-curricular activities and educational resources, and databases and toolkits for civil society, local authorities, policymakers and more. Our publications can also provide further information on threats to democracy and liberal society: these range from accessible explainers on specific groups, to quick-fire analysis on the issues of the day, to methodologically rigorous reports supported by qualitative and quantitative data.
Business
We are proud to be a leader in digital literacy training for adults and business leaders, helping organisations foster a culture of digital citizenship. Our programmes support both leadership and employees in countering weaponised hate, information operations and false narratives in their workplace. We also work with businesses to provide bespoke insights into evolving narratives targeting their industries and help identify potential threats to both organisations and individuals. Educators
Young people face a complex and dangerous digital ecosystem. ISD’s resources support educators and youth workers to help young people build an understanding of a range of threats and challenges and enhance their resilience through digital and media literacy.
We provide training and capacity building for young people, and our resources include programmes and curricula to engage young people in formal and informal education settings. Available resources cover topics ranging from digital citizenship and media literacy to extremist recruitment.

Law enforcement
ISD supports law enforcement agencies with comprehensive resources for preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE). We provide real-time threat analysis and brief into local agencies across the United States and Europe. Our approach includes advanced online monitoring of short-term threats of violence, investigation of long-range trends in hate and extremism across the ideological spectrum, and rapid-response capabilities. ISD also equips local frontline practitioners with the resources to combat threats from hate, extremism and information operations targeting their infrastructure. Media
ISD equips media professionals with the tools and resources they need to combat extremism and information manipulation. We provide training for journalists on the use of our dashboards, toolkits and curricula, enhancing their ability to recognise and counter extremist narratives, hate speech and disinformation. Since 2024, we have briefed more than 100 local US newsrooms, empowering media outlets to report accurately on complex issues related to extremism and social cohesion. Our experts are routinely interviewed by international outlets to provide clarity into extremism, terrorism, hate and information warfare, including in the wake of major global crises.
Parents
ISD supports parents in understanding challenges connected to extremism and radicalisation that young people may encounter online. We offer resources and guidance to help families recognise misleading or harmful content, help themselves through difficult situations, and better understand the digital environments their children navigate.
Policymakers and Officials
ISD has a 20-year track record of helping governments at all levels. Our work includes policy advisory support, cutting-edge analysis, and monitoring of the threat landscape to safeguard national security and individual rights. We provide governments with the best-in-class data analysis to combat a range of emerging threats both online and offline. Our analysis tracks the connections between extremist networks and offline violence, dissects the role of foreign interference in regional politics, and explores a variety of threats to democracy across different jurisdictions. Furthermore, we use evidence and expertise to make sure regulations can adapt and last. Our Digital Policy Lab (DPL) convenes regulators and other officials to discuss threats to democracy, free speech and public safety.
Researchers
For 20 years, ISD has worked with researchers across the globe to advance high quality, methodologically rigorous study of extremism, hate and information operations. In addition to producing a substantial body of publicly accessible quantitative and qualitative research each year, we develop cutting-edge tools to help researchers build and analyse datasets. These include the Information Laundromat, which identifies shared architecture and content across websites, and the Hamilton dashboard, which tracks narratives promoted by Russian, Chinese and Iranian government officials and state-backed media. We also deliver training for frontline practitioners and researchers across sectors on OSINT and other digital research techniques.
