The Base, a far-right terrorist organization founded in the US, has claimed responsibility for the assassination of an intelligence officer in Kyiv, Ukraine. ISD Digital Research Analyst Steven Rai spoke to The Guardian about the group’s activities in Ukraine: “The Base has been highly active in Ukraine since March and has conducted at least 10 arson attacks targeting infrastructure and buildings throughout the country,” Steven said. “They have repeatedly threatened a variety of terrorist actions, including acts of sabotage and the assassination of Ukrainian government officials.”

While it is unconfirmed whether the Base is responsible for the recent assassination, the group certainly poses a significant risk in the ongoing war.
