US mayors highlight modern-day challenges, the threat of targeted violence

Targeted violence is reaching towns and cities across the United States—forcing local leaders to ask questions about how to grapple with this threat. 

A Just Security piece written by a current and a former mayor, both part of ISD’s Strong Cities network, discussed how mayors can prepare for this violence as global crises impact the social fabric of their communities. 

The authors cited ISD research into Iranian information operations to illustrate the extent of the muddled information environments that mayors must now contend with in their role.
