AI content continues to cloud information environment amid war in Middle East

Artificial intelligence has thickened the fog of war as the conflict in the Middle East unfolds. 

AFP spoke to ISD about how AI tools have impacted the online landscape. Discussing how meme-driven AI content trivializes conflict and spreads false information, the outlet cited ISD’s description of this phenomenon as the “Legoification” of war propaganda. 

AFP also highlighted ISD’s research into Russian information operations, which exploit online chaos by impersonating media outlets like the BBC.
