ISD’s Pablo Maristany de las Casas discusses ISD findings on AfD’s use of AI during the German elections

Pablo Maristany de las Casas, an analyst at ISD, spoke to Sky News about his recent findings on the AfD’s use of AI-generated content on social media in the lead-up to German elections in February. He explained that the AfD is “clearly the one actor that is exploiting this technology the most,” with content often portraying aggressive narratives or glorifying traditional German values.

Pablo, co-author of Generative AI and the German Far Right: Narratives, Tactics and Digital Strategies, noted that by using AI content “the far-right community feels more united in the so-called cultural fight against these groups that they’re attacking.”
