ISD uncovers unbranded Telegram channels acting as gateways to extremist content linked to Terrorgram Collective

ISD analyst Steven Rai’s work was highlighted in a Guardian article about how the Terrorgram Collective, a neo-fascist accelerationist network which has been prosribed as a terrorist organization, launders their propaganda to a mainstream audience.

The Guardian uses Rai’s dispatch to unpack how the Terrogram Collective is “covertly seeding violent propaganda on to mainstream social media channels – exposing tens of thousands of unknowing followers to radicalizing messages.” The article uses Rai’s analysis to show how the terrorist organization masquerades “under the guise of acceptable rightwing content, sharing clips from CNN and MSNBC, but then occasionally sharing conspiratorial content and racist or violent memes” which pushes followers “further down the propaganda rabbit hole and join the chaotic group chats that push harsher ideas.”
