ISD’s Milo Comerford featured in ProPublica article on the Terrorgram Collective

Milo Comerford, ISD’s director of policy & research (counter-extremism), was recently featured in ProPublica and FRONTLINE’s investigation into the online white supremacist organization, the Terrorgram Collective, which the US has designated as a global terrorist organization. The investigation notes that both the US and Australia have imposed sanctions on the group, which, Milo explained, has “majorly impacted” its activity.

“We’ve seen many chats being voluntarily closed as people feel at risk of legal action, and we’ve seen generally the amount of discourse really reducing,” Milo said.  He added that the “organizational capabilities of the Terrorgram Collective itself have been severely undermined.”

The full ProPublica article is available here. Milo will also appear in an upcoming FRONTLINE documentary based on the investigation.
