Anthony DeAngelo: election deniers “are playing the long game” on the road to 2024

ISD’s Head of Public Affairs, Anthony DeAngelo, features in UK’s iNews speaking on the 2022 primaries, the impact of election deniers and what to expected for 2024.

While 2022’s elections didn’t play into the narratives of election deniers and conspiracists, that doesn’t mean that they’re going to necessarily stop all together.

“It’s important to remember that these actors are playing the long game here,” he told iNews.

“The election denialists the conspiracy theorists, the people who are are trying in their minds to right the wrong of 2020, this is only halftime of this game. They are looking squarely at 2024 for the end game of what they’re working towards.

“So, yes, there was not a repeat of 6 January, there wasn’t these mass mobilizations by groups, but that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t be vigilant and we should stop paying attention to this.

“Because these groups have just continued to to perpetuate this disinformation on conspiracy theories around elections, and they’re not going to stop and they’re not going to stop, until they feel like they’ve they’ve gotten what they wanted.
