ISD’s 2023 report on anti-drag mobilization targeting the LGBTQ+ community was cited in a recent article by The Hill. Anti-drag hate has risen sharply in recent years, with ISD tracking more than 200 incidents between 2022 and 2023. In response, drag defense networks have emerged to push back against this wave of targeted harassment.

ISD’s investigation found that these attacks are being driven by a growing number of white supremacists, as well as parents’ rights groups and Christian nationalist organizations.
