Telegram shifts platform policy, pledging cooperation with authorities following CEO’s arrest

Isabelle Frances-Wright, Director of Technology and Society at ISD US, spoke to The Wall Street Journal about the extremist content, kill lists and other dangerous materials available on Telegram. This follows the platform’s announcement it would cooperate with authorities after years of denying requests to turn over information about users suspected of illegal activity.

“Telegram serves as ground zero for a lot of the worst things you see on the internet,” she said.
This comes after Telegram’s CEO, Pavel Durov, was arrested in France.
