GOP ‘Twitter Files’ hearing: Republicans gear up to attack content moderation decisions

GOP leaders began their probe this Wednesday into the so-called ‘Twitter Files’, questioning former executives on alleged censoring by the platform against conservatives. In conversation with The Hill, ISD’s Head of Public Affairs and Strategic Communications, Anthony DeAngelo, said it’s in the interest of both parties to be “looking for ways to ensure full trust and faith in the internet’s public square.”

“Accountability requires openness and transparency, and members should press former and current Twitter executives for transparency on algorithmic preferences, inconsistencies on content moderation policies and how they’re applied, and their recent decision to remove free access to Twitter application programming interface.”
