ISD’s Nathan Doctor to speak on the impact of CrowdTangle shutdown ahead of US elections

ISD Senior Digital Methods Manager Nathan Doctor, will join fellow experts this Monday as a panelist to discuss the impacts of Meta’s planned shutdown of the social monitoring tool Crowdtangle ahead of the US elections. As a researcher, Nathan will highlight how the 14 August shutdown will affect ISD’s analysis of hate, extremism, and disinformation, particularly ahead of the November elections.  

The event From Open to Opaque: Shedding Light on the Impact of Meta’s Imminent CrowdTangle Shut Down, organized by the Center for American Progress, will feature opening remarks from US Senator Chris Coons followed by a panel highlighting the wide-ranging implications to journalists, researchers, academics, and more.
