ISD’s Milo Comerford to join GNET panel on tackling nihilistic violence
On April 21, ISD Senior Director of Policy & Research Milo Comerford will join a panel of experts for a Global Network on Extremism and Technology (GNET) webinar on how to combat nihilistic violence.
“Unpacking Subcultures of Nihilistic Violence: Bridging Research, Policy, and Law Enforcement Responses” will highlight how practitioners, researchers and policymakers should grapple with the spread of online subcultures of nihilistic violence. The discussion will be centred around a recent policy paper, authored by ISD and published by GNET, with panelists offering an overview of the findings and how practitioners can respond to the rising threat.
Milo will be joined by Dr. Alexander Meleagrou-Hitchens, Co-Director of the Centre for Statecraft & National Security and lecturer in Terrorism and Radicalisation in the Department of War Studies at King’s College London, as well as Rob Richardson, who leads project RHYOBASALT, the national response to the Com Network threat.
