Midline Assessment Report for PROACT: Community-Based Interventions Program in Kenya
ISD UK
Strong Cities
This is a report of the midline evaluation of the PROACT program. PROACT– Community Based Interventions in Kenya program– is a multi-phased prevention program in Kwale, Nakuru and Isiolo counties that is empowering, enabling and equipping county officials, national government stakeholders and civil society organisations with the tools and know-how to collaboratively stem hate, polarisation and extremism. PROACT is driven by global best practices, but rooted in the diverse environments of communities across the Kenyan landscape. It draws heavily from the worldwide Strong Cities Network (SCN) ‘local prevention network’ model to ensure community-based interventions are multi-faceted and rooted in human rights-based frameworks. The midline assessment, the second stage of community-driven research activities conducted in the three counties, gauges the progress PROACT has made on community teams and county P/CVE governance structures. It identifies lessons learned and recommends improvements towards the realization of project objectives.
