Katherine Keneally speaks with Sky News about the reaction to the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO

Katherine Keneally, Director of Threat Analysis and Prevention at ISD US, joined Sky News’ Daily podcast to discuss the internet’s reaction to the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

“The murder of Brian Thompson reflects a rather concerning trend that we have observed in recent years where we’re seeing, not only individuals engage in violence or other illegal activities motivated by perceived grievances and the belief that violence is an acceptable and necessary response to those grievances, but that perpetrators aren’t always fitting into any clear ideological box,” said Katherine.

Katherine observed that, while support for high-profile acts of violence typically comes from fringe groups, this time it appears to be originating from mainstream sources. The murder has “ignited discussions about the healthcare and insurance industry in the United States,” she added.
