Julia Ebner speaks to The Guardian about how to address extreme online violence with young people

Julia Ebner, Senior Resident Research Fellow at ISD, spoke with The Guardian about why parents should discuss online violence with their children following the guilty plea of Axel Rudakubana. Julia explains how Rudakubana, who committed the Southport stabbings, provides an opportunity for parents to proactively discuss online safety with their children, saying, “they might go down a rabbit hole and expose themselves to radicalisation or engaging with extreme content.”

“This is an important moment to raise awareness and to educate,” she added.
