ISD’s Max Read discusses left-wing election denialism claims with NBC News

Max Read, Senior Research Manager at ISD, spoke with NBC News about emerging election fraud claims from left-wing social media accounts following US President-Elect Trump’s victory. While these claims are the most significant effort to undermine the results by left-wing accounts, and mirror tactics used by Republicans in the past, Max points out that there is “limited engagement” and little traction on the left, and what appears to be better platform moderation toward election fraud narratives in identified content.

“This may be just a passing moment that does not lead to lasting belief in election denial narratives on the left, or it may have more traction,” he said. “It’s a ‘wait and see’ on that front.”
