Youth Innovation Labs: A Model for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism

The following publication discusses the development, implementation and evaluation of Youth Innovation Labs. Labs are immersive, activist-led events that create a secure environment to facilitate capacity-building while giving participants the contacts, tools and resources needed to develop strategic campaigns for preventing and countering violent extremism.

The purpose of this publication is to share the methodology and structure that YouthCAN has developed, as well as the best-practices and outcomes from YouthCAN’s work with young activists and creatives.

Developing and Implementing Local Action Plans for P/CVE in East Africa: SCN Toolkit with lessons from Kenya.

This toolkit has been designed by the Strong Cities Network (SCN), based on Kenya’s experience in developing County Action Plans (CAPs) on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism, as a resource for governments and civil society organisations in East Africa who are interested in developing a Local Action Plan (LAP). LAPs seek to build a multisectoral approach to strengthening community resilience and addressing the root causes of violent extremism, polarisation and hate.

Together for Safety: 21 Ways Forward 2021

The Together for Safety webinars were a series of online talks to tackle pressing urban safety and security challenges with a key focus on addressing hate, polarisation and extremism across the Nordics and in cities around the world. They spotlighted mayors and city leaders, policymakers, practitioners, youth, civil society and subject matter experts.
