Dilwar Hussain MBE is a Fellow at ISD UK and an independent consultant on social policy, community relations and Islam in the modern world. Most recently, he was a Special Adviser to the UK Prime Minister (2025–2026), where he led the development of Protecting What Matters, the government’s national social cohesion and extremism strategy.

He is affiliated with the Woolf Institute, Cambridge, is an Honorary Fellow of the University of Leicester and a consultant to the Good Faith Partnership. Dilwar is the founding Chair of New Horizons in British Islam. He was an Assistant Professor at Coventry University and has held various trustee roles, including with the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, the Sir Sigmund Sternberg Charitable Foundation and the Faith & Belief Forum.

Dilwar was awarded an MBE for services to inter-faith understanding and community relations.
