ISD has enjoyed significant growth in the past 5 years, and we are proud of our reputation as the leading global think and do tank fighting hate, polarisation, disinformation and extremism. As part of this growth, we now seek an experienced and dynamic communications professional to drive ISD’s publications and editorial output.
The Managing Editor will work alongside ISD’s leadership and programmatic teams and will serve as the organisation’s senior editor. They will deliver organisational oversight of the editorial process of all ISD’s publications, including reports, policy briefings and other research outputs. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of how to frame research in a way that is engaging for audiences and will be able to quickly understand the nuances of work developed by our research, policy and programming teams.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing research oversight and editorial support on ISD’s research and project pipeline
• Overseeing ISD’s publications process, working with staff to communicate the top-lines of research in an impactful way to key stakeholders
• Managing ISD’s media strategy in order to position ISD’s public outputs through clear narratives and messaging.
The successful candidate will have a proven in-depth subject matter understanding of ISD’s issue areas of disinformation, extremism and polarisation. They will possess outstanding attention to detail in their writing and editorial skills, and be driven to design, implement and manage a world-class media and publications strategy.
