Ciarán O’Connor goes on France 24 to talk about the connections between the Canadian truckers’ convoy, the North American far right, and how that translates across the Atlantic. O’Connor explains that through mainly open-source methodologies, he has been able to follow the discussion around these topics and access different extremist-skewed groups. In the U.S., the activity can be traced back to far-right content creators like Ben Shapiro or Glenn Beck propelling the Convoy’s arguments and crowd funding links to their following. In Europe, activity has been much more decentralised likely due to a lack of perception of a central figurehead.
