Jared Holt on new images of Trump’s lawyer following Alex Jones around on Jan. 6

In a recent investigation, CNN was able to place Kenneth Chesebro, the alleged architect of Trump’s fake electors plot to subvert the 2020 election results, at the Capitol riots through publicly available database images following conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

Although Chesebro’s alleged connections to the plot to overthrow the 2020 election has been widely discussed, his role on January 6 hasn’t received the same amount of scrutiny, and Cesebro even plead the Fifth amendment when asked by the House select committee about his whereabouts during the first week of January 2021.

ISD’s Senior Research Manager Jared Holt spoke to CNN about this connection: “Even if Chesebro is simply a diehard InfoWars fan [Alex Jones’ controversial news website], I think that would further illustrate how thin the line was between the serious, credentialed people who sought to undermine election results and the extremist figures who sought to unleash havoc was in that period, to the extent it meaningfully existed at all.”
