ISD’s Max Read speaks to CBS about election fraud claims dropping after Trump’s favorable results

Max Read, Senior Research Manager at ISD, spoke with CBS about the decrease in election fraud claims with CBS following President-elect Trump’s victory. ISD’s research showed a surge in online claims of election fraud on Election Day in Pennsylvania and Michigan, with Trump even posting on Truth Social that there was “a lot of talk of massive cheating in Pennsylvania.” However, as results began favoring the Republican candidate, these claims dropped significantly.

“I think this shows that these narratives are pushed when they serve a purpose, and they are stage setting often for efforts to dispute unfavorable results, and then once that stage setting and those claims are no longer needed, they’re not pushed anymore.”
