Research Manager Cécile Simmons wrote an op-ed for French newspaper Libération about the emerging narratives surrounding climate denial- and delayism in France, focusing on ISD’s ongoing climate monitoring and research ahead of COP27. Following the recent heat wave this summer, the rise in energy prices and the fear of winter power cuts this winter, France is once again experiencing a renewal in mis- and disinformation about renewal energies on social media. These discourses reflect a shift in the strategies of climate-sceptic actors that more and more deflect from outright denialism to convincing the public to delay political actions.
