The Grand Challenge 2022: Blending AI and data science for environmental solutions
The Environmental Intelligence Grand Challenge 2022, organised by the University of Exeter, was held on 11 to 15 July 2022. The event brings together researchers and experts to create novel solutions, blending data science and AI to address environmental problems.
Over the five days of the Grand Challenge, partner organisations presented environmental problems for interdisciplinary teams to solve. ISD’s Łukasz Janulewicz lent his expertise to teams throughout the event.
ISD was an official partner of the EIGC 2022, alongside other organisations, including Friends of the Earth, World Wildlife Fund and the Global Carbon Project.
The hackathon invited a wide range of participants, including postgraduates, early career researches, academics and practitioners from industry, NGOs and the public sector to take part in the event.
