ISD at the Bradford Literature Festival: Political lying in the times of internet and cyberwarfare

ISD’s Zahed Amanullah discussed the rise of political mis- and disinformation in an interview with Peter Oborne at the Bradford Literature Festival.

Peter Oborne is the author of The Rise of Political Lying, a book about political falsehood during the governments of John Major and Tony Blair, and The Assault on Truth, about political deceit under the Johnson government. He also runs a website about political lies from the Johnson government. The event called into question the way in which political lies are undermining Western democratic values, exploring online government propaganda, cyberwarfare and ‘soft power’ influence operations.
