ISD in Brussels: The EU’s annual disinformation conference

ISD’s Jennie King and Chloe Colliver joined the EU Disinfo Lab’s annual conference in Brussels.

Chloe moderated the session ‘Disinfo for hire: Micro-influencers, troll armies, and influence buying in the modern disinformation economy’. Speakers explored the outsourcing of digital disinformation to commercial firms, which offers clients deniability and distance from the operations.

Jennie presented during a session on climate change and anti-science disinformation, talking about the transformation of climate change into a culture war and the new challenges this presents.
